Elias Longley (1810-1875) and William Longley (1814-1889) were the sons of William Longley, a scissors smith in Watery Lane in 1841, and his wife Elizabeth. By 1849, Elias was a scissors maker in Yard 24, Carver Lane. In 1854, he was listed in Backfields. He launched a partnership with his brother William, but in 1856 this was dissolved. William advertised in 1861 as a manufacturer of plain and fancy scissors in Allen Street. He was aged 46 and employed three men and a boy. William b....
