Established in 1908, this electro-plate firm was based at Sykes Works, Eyre Street. Its founders were Charles Marples (1864-1950), Walter Talbot Wingfield (1879-1946), and Harry Wilkins (c.1887-1939). The latter had been born in Connecticut and was the stepson of Charles Marples.
