George Staniforth
George Staniforth (1819-1879) was born in Owlerton, Sheffield, the son of William and Elizabeth Staniforth. His father was a pen knife cutler and George learned the trade. He was listed as a spring knife manufacturer in Owlerton in 1868; and three years later as a maker of gardeners’ pruning knives in Owlerton, with a house in Chapel Street. George Staniforth died on 4 November 1879, aged 60. ....
