Sounding suspiciously like Sheffield’s premier maker (see Joseph Rodgers & Sons Ltd), this scissors and spring knife maker apparently started in about 1860. The first address was Smithfield, but in 1864 Joseph Rodgers & Sons advertised from Exchange Works, Edgerton Street. In 1868, the partners, living in Pearl Street, were Joseph (aged about 50) and his son, Joseph Jun. (aged about 25).
