George Gillott (1839-1917) was the son of George Gillott, a spring knife manufacturer in Hollis Croft, and his wife, Sarah. George Jun. followed his father into the trade. By 1871, he was trading from Brightmore Street – Gillott’s Yard was his address in the Census; Brightmore Works in the directory. He employed three men and two boys.
