Creswick is a distinctive Sheffield name and the family prided itself in being one of the oldest in the cutlery trade. Six Creswicks served as Masters Cutler between 1630 and 1667. This firm began in 1810 as T. & J. Creswick, when it entered its first silver mark in Sheffield under Thomas Creswick (1788-1863) and James Creswick (1789-1854).
