Thomas Randolph Parkin was born in 1873 in Sheffield, the son of Thomas, a Table Knife Hafter. By 1891 Thomas was working as a Table Knife Cutler and his brother Horace, aged 12, was also a Cutler. Ten years later Thomas was a Cutlery Manufacturer living at 66 Milton Street and employing 4 men at 56 Cambridge Street (Whites Directory).The 1939 Register entry lists Thomas as a Table Knife Cutler, now a widower and retired.
