This cutlery manufacturer in Mary Street was founded in about 1925, after Fred Ellis & Sons filed for bankruptcy. Annie Eliza Ellis was Fred’s wife and presumably her name was chosen instead of his to front the new company. Fred died on 1 September 1935 and was buried at City Road Cemetery.It is not known how long Annie Eliza was associated with the enterprise, but certainly the business proved long-lived.
