Stanley Charles Dove (1872-1956) was born at Deptford, Kent, the third son of George (a draper) and his wife, Ellen. Stanley moved to Sheffield and in 1905 married Elizabeth Georgiana Woodhead. In 1911, Dove & Co was listed as a merchant and cutlery manufacturer, White Buildings, Fitzalan Square. Stanley lived at Northumberland Road.
